Chevron Necklace

Product Details

What you’ll need:

•beading wire (I’m using 24 gauge Artistic Wire)

•2 chains, 30cm each

•9 beads (I’m using 2mm blue sand stones)

•7 jump rings (I’m using one 8mm, two 4mm and four 2mm jump rings)

•1 clasp

•6 straight tubes (I’m using 2 x 11mm tubes)

•flat-nose and round-nose pliers, wire cutters

They will make approx 62cm long necklace.

1) Let’s start by making a wrapped loop. Grasp one end of the beading wire with round-nose pliers, about 3cm from the edge, and wrap it around the jaw of the pliers to create a loop.

2) Add the end of a chain to the loop.

3) With the loop securely grasped with round-nose pliers, grasp the tail wire with flat-nose pliers, then wind it neatly around the main wire just below the loop for 2, 3times. Trim the excess tail wire with wire cutters, then squeeze down the newly cut tip to make it lie flat so that no sharp edge sticks out.

4) Add one straight tube, three beads, then one more straight tube to the wire.

5) Following the step 1 and 2, make a wrapped loop again (don’t forget to add another end of a chain to the loop!).

6) Gently bend the wire so that it forms a ‘v’ shape.

7) Make two more sets of straight tubes and beads. Don’t add any chains to the loops, though.

8) Using a jump ring, add an end of a beaded strand to the chain, about 3-5 links above the end.

9) Repeat step 8 on the other end. Now you have two rows of beaded strands attached to the chains.

10) Repeat step 8 & 9 to attach one more beaded strand.

11) Using small jump rings, add a clasp and a jump ring to the end of each chain. And… you’re done!
